There’s something we need to talk about…

An average of eight people die by suicide every day in Australia alone – and for every death, it’s estimated that another 30 people will attempt to take their life.

With tens of thousands of team members in countries across the globe, Virgin is supporting R U OK? in a commitment to ensure that all team members and customers feel connected and protected.

There's something we need to talk about... (R U OK?)

Virgin Mobile Australia is entering their fourth year as R U OK?’s Conversation Partner; with CEO, James Gully leading by example and joining the Conversation Convoy – watch his Carpool Conversation in the video below.

Tomorrow, on R U OK? Day, Virgin Mobile Australia is offering customers free calls within Australia, to prompt them to check in with someone who might need the call, and use mobiles phone as a force for good. The company is also organising an internal event for team members to take time out from their desks and reconnect over lunch.

Virgin Active Australia is supporting R U OK? Day again this year, by using their clubs as physical spaces to connect. Each club is supporting with different activities, such as a ping-pong tournament, pop-up golf, laughing class, and special group fitness that encourages community and conversation – find out what events are happening at which clubs on Virgin Active Australia’s Facebook. Team members working at head office will take the afternoon off tomorrow for a social afternoon of mindfulness.

Virgin Australia is also getting involved by supporting the mental health and wellbeing of their team members with communications, conversations and activities on the day.

So stop scrolling, make the call and ask ‘R U OK?’ It’s a simple question, but asking it could change somebody’s life.
